The Dunes Cocktail Lounge


Located on the west side of Phoenix, this is bar is the perfect place to go to unwind and not worry about having to be bothered. Entering into the bar through a small door in a plain all cement building, they have music going, the television is a sports channel, a few arcade games, and a couple of pool tables. The staff is extremely welcoming, giving off the feeling that they could double as a therapist.


Their drinks a surprising inexpensive, starting at $2.50 for a cocktail with multiple liquors. The choices of cocktails are endless as the bartenders are ready to make any drink that is requested or even help suggest a drink if it is needed. The food is not anything special, simply bar food of pretzels and peanuts. It is a great, money-saving place to go to relax with a good cocktail.

Sandbar Mexican Grill


With three locations across the Valley, Sandbar Mexican Grill is a relaxing place to go during the week. However, on Friday and Saturday nights, it is a party scene; jam packed with 21 - 30 year olds who are out looking for a good time. On these nights, a DJ helps fill the dance floor, mixing records from today's top artists. During the week, the Sandbar is much more calming, entertaining a slightly older crowd in age and maturity.














The food at the Sandbar is a mix between hamburger and French fries with tacos and burritos. The price for food is a bit high for being mediocre. The price for a simple cocktail like a vodka cranberry is $7. It is best to go during happy hour when all of their beers are $2.50.

16th Street Sports Bar


To watch any sports game at any time, this bar covers it all. With over 20 flat screen televisions, they even make room for other sports like soccer and ruby. This will be the ideal place to go to for the up coming FIFA 2010 World Cup. They have shuffle boards and pool tables and still provide plenty of room to walk around. There is always something exciting featured every month from poker tournaments to March Madness basketball.


16th Street Sports Bar has amazing Fish 'N Chips which were only recently added to the menu. Their menu prices for food is considerably reasonable, ranging from $3 - $15. They have a beer of the month that is only $2.50 per bottle all day throughout the month while daily specials cost $2 - $3.50. This is a great place to go watch sports games with some friends and have a cold beer.
